Recently, I was forced to remove the wireless card from my Hackintosh - parents didn't want me facebooking all night long on school nights (which I don't. ). I'm using a Dell Optiplex 755 running Lion flawlessly. I have a kext for my onboard LAN but I am not able to connect this desktop to our router. So I figured I would just find an old laptop running Windows XP (done), slam a wireless card into it, install the driver, and see if it works (it does). Then I'd just take an ethernet cable and connect it to both my Mac and laptop and enable Windows XP Internet Connection Sharing. Unfortunatly, its not working. In System Preferences -> Networking, my Mac does say that it is connected, and both ethernet ports have IP addresses, according to the OS's. But the Mac cannot ping the Win XP computer nor can it connect to the Internet. The laptop is connected to the Internet just fine through its wireless card, I'm writing this post on it. I looked around Google a bit, but was only able to find guides telling one how to connect Windows through Mac. This is just the opposite, I need to connect Mac through Windows. Any help?
