Dell Studio 1747

Firstly, I would like to apologize for any future noob-iness on this topic.

 

I currently have a Dell Studio 1747, and followed many different guides to get to where i am now.

I have finally installed 10.6.3 onto a hard drive however, only in safe mode (-x) using iAtkos s3 v2.

I am thinking that it is the safe mode that won't let me use the wireless internet and graphics card.

To get change that, i have to edit/install some kext.

 

I am unfamiliar with kext and how to edit/find/install them.

 

My current problems are the wireless internet, the 4650 ATI graphics card (that isn't fully supported but people manage to get around it... somehow), touchpad (wireless mouse and keyboard are working), to boot without "-x busratio=20 cpus=1" ... Can anyone explain, any part would be tremendous help.

some random questions:

-why is -x required and 20 for busratio and 1 for cpus. before i used -v busratio=12 and it works fine until the installation fails at around 8 minutes left saying it cannot be completed.
