manu21a
Hello! My name is Manu, i am an spanish boy very interested in new technology. So, first, sorry for my English and if i have some mistakes writing (i´ll try it doesn´t happen ) I have read many post from this forum and I have tried to install Mac OS X Lion (certanily, released today by Apple) using Virtual Box on a Windows 7 x64 host, with 6 GB memory RAM DDR III and a intel Core i7 920 processor. I am going to tell now the steps I have followed (with no exit). I would appreciate if somebody detect an error if he/she can tell me. First of all, i have a virtual machine with Snow Leopard on VirtualBox, so I have used it for doing some things. I have downloaded Install Mac OS X Lion.app and i have put it in Snow Leopard. Once there I have shown the content of the .app and i have arrived until the InstallESD.dmg. I have copied it to de desktop. Then, i have opened a terminal and I have used "hdiutil" to convert the DMG to ISO, because i didn´t know another way to modify the content of a DMG. I wrote on terminal: "hdiutil convert InstallESD.dmg - format UDTO -o OSXLion.iso". Once I have down that i do: "hdiutil attach -readwrite OSXLion.iso" and the ISO get opened (is mounted) so i can modify its content. I delete the two files named "platformsupport" (if a don´t bad remember) and i also modify the OSInstall.mpgk, the developer file, modifying this source code so that when it detects that your machine is virtual it returns False, not True (comparison with "VMM"). Finally I use the ISO modified whith the changes i mentioned before. Now, with the version 4.0.12 of VirtualBox Lion installer makes that (doesn´t enter) and finally i have to shut down the virtual machine: When I tried modifying the developer source code with more "trues" =) i coud make the installation but after, the operating system didn´t load, like if I weren´t made any installation. EDIT: I forgot telling that I used the phrase "ourhardwork... please dont steal it..." to run the machine, modifying the .vbox with a text editor Can anybody help me? Thank you so much and sorry if I have not explained so fine I should.
