VVrath Posted May 8, 2011 Share Posted May 8, 2011 I have been struggling to install SL on my Hackintosh. Brief specs: Gigabyte P35C-DS3R (v1) Motherboard Intel Core 2 Quad Q9950 8GB Ram (4x2GB) PowerColor Ati Radeon HD 4870 1Gb The basic problem is that with the above video card I cannot get SL to boot - there is no kernel panic, it just hangs. I have tried a variety of boot CDs to exactly the same effect. I eventually managed to install SL by swapping the video card for an elderly NVIDIA 7100GS I had hanging around, but this is not a long term solution as this card will only display in 1024x768 and besides I dual-boot Windows 7 for gaming purposes, and the 7100 just isn't up to it. After a successful install (including installing Chameleon 2 RC4 to the boot sector) I tried swapping back to the 4870 but it still hangs - playing around with GraphicsEnabler=Yes and AtiConfig=Motmot (as suggested on a few forum postings) made no difference.
