Jorge Libertad
Hi, I deceided to buy this laptop cause of the price / outcome ratio. I've been makin music for a long time on a semi-professional basis and been using Win ever since. Lately I've found you can install Mac OS on a PC so I deceided to give it a shot cause everyone was like Macs are hype for Music. I succeeded like at 3 previous installations on different brands of laptops and stuff. But this HP seems a lil' troublemaker. :-) - > 1.) I installed Snow Leopard using the GREAT Nawcom Boot CD - without this you won't succeed - boot with 'busratio=18' 2.) After the install you MUST boot with this CD or somehow implement the Nawcom bootloader in case you dont the computer restarts in a loop 3.) After the successful boot the Trackpad and keyboard dont work even if you selected VoodooPS2 key & mouse; Sound works perfect, eth work, wifi does not, graphics on 1024 4.) The USBs dont work either BUT after some period of time (10 mins or sth.) I think that two USBs start to work and you can use external key & mouse 5.) I tried to modify the graphics settings in apple.boot.plist blah blah (sorry dont remember the long name) with <key>Graphics Mode</key><string>1600x900x32</string> cause it is the native resolution but unsuccessful - I dont even try to find driver for Ati HD6370 - Im pretty sure there arent any :-) So you see it is kinda Pain in the a**. :-) Next Time I'm buying a Mac :-) Or a Cool supported hardware for a deskop. If there's anyone who has some experience with this Machine (could be very similar to 4520s core i5 460) please reply. :-) I know that these PCs are brand new but dont you tell me Core i's are not supported by Apple and by bootloaders and kexts. Thanx :-)
