Installed Leopard, OSX doesn't boot

I just installed OSX Leopard Developer Preview, and when I did the "Upgrade" installation method, it would not boot OSX. It would just give me the gray screen with the Apple logo, and the spinning thing, then the blue screen comes up and nothing happens. No Apple menu and no desktop icons. It stays stuck this way.

I then did an "Archive and Install", and it did boot for the first time, but I restarted, and now once more it's stuck in the blue background rut.

Anyone know what I can do?
