Hi,

My HW is Gygabyte EP45-UD3R, core 2 DUO and gigabyte 9800 GT (the overclocked one).I have succesfully installed 10.6.3 and updated to 10.6.5, but I am new to this and have several doubts. Could you point me in the right direction?

1) I put the HD mode to ACHI, and installed 10.6.3 retail DVD on an old IDE DISC by using #####. I have windows and linux in a SATA disk.

Can I use the IDE disk? It seems to work but I think I have read somewhere that the disk should be SATA. Can I have problems? Should I buy a SATA disk?

2) I updated to 10.6.5 and ran #####, easy beast installation. It installed the chamalleon boot loader. Long story, but at the end in order to recover boot to linux and windows, I ended up setting the HD mode to IDE, and changing the boot order in the BIOS.

Can I have OSX in IDE mode or should I try to get everthing working in ACHI mode?

3) I am booting OSX now by using #####. I would like to have triple boot (windows, linux and OSX). It seems that with 10.6.x this is more complex now than using just grub. Could you recomend a guide? I have found some which tell you to install everything from scratch in a specific order, but I am not willing to touch my linux or windows setup. How can I get triple boot?

I would be really grateful if you could givem some advice in these three topcis.
