Boot0 error after restoring bootable partition from Image using Disk Utility

Hello,

I've searched the forum (and net) but couldn't find the solution yet.

I have one HDD with 3 partitions:

1st - Bootable Mac OSX install, 10.6.4

2nd- "Secondary Install" with mirror copy of the Fresh install of OSX (i boot into it using ##### to work on main Mac OSX install when i mess up)

3rd - Storgage Drive: where i regularly backup main 'Mac OSX install' partition to image files using Disk Utility and CCC.

So i decided to restore from one image. I booted into "Secondary Install" and from there restored image to the main "Mac OSX install" partition (without re-formatting it first).

Tried booting directly and get Boot0 error. So i searched around seems something is going on with bootloader or points in the wrong place. Tried making main drive "Active"-did not help.

So i boot into "Mac OSX install" using ##### and reinstall '##### w/#####' hoping that it would reinstall Chameleon and fix my issue. I selected ##### and fix permissions and it went thru Successfully.

Now when I boot directly (w/o #####) i get a black screen with "_" character flashing at the top of the screen forever.

Seems like Chameleon did not install correctly?

So how do i fix this? And more importantly how do i make a bootable backup with bootloader to an image file on separate partition? (Can cloneZilla do that, or it only mirrors the whole drive?)

I REALLY don't want to re-run '##### w/ #####' setting after each restore since if i finetune something in the install it might overwrite with it's default kexts. I would love though to JUST install the bootloader so it does not overwrite any of my custom/newer texts.

I saw an option in ##### to JUST install the bootloaders:

I tried installing Cham 2 RC4 and RC5 but when i boot directly same thing happens: "i get a black screen with "_" character flashing at the top of the screen forever."

Should i try to install Chameleon 2.0 RC4 or RC5 ? It also says 'Not needed with #####'? Then why when i installed ##### it did not work correctly? Hmm....

Are there any advantages to installing RC5 over RC4 (which was included with ##### setting) or will it make things less stable?

Maybe the bootloader is trying to boot my 'secondary install' which does not have ##### and should be unbootable directly?

Is it possible that i messed up the install by installing ##### twice? Since now i tried loading only Chameleon and nothing helps.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!
