Hi Everyone! Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

Hopefully we might be able to solve this issue for quite a few people!

I have a Compaq Presario C793VU

Intel Celeron M560 Processor

ICH8 Chipset

GL965 Graphics (GMAX3100 Works)

RTL8139 Network.

I've done lots of reading and have tried different distributions, Iaktos, Kalyway, Ideneb, iPC... On installation of these I always select the least in the custom section.

They install fine and seem to work fine apart from the overheating of my laptop! Underload the temps range from 82C-86C and no load 80C. Tested using kext from IaktosV7 (Think it was that one...but you can certainly feel the heat from the bottom).

I have read other peoples issues regarding this same problem and tried the suggested fixes but no joy.. like deleting the cputhermal.kext etc...

I have also read somewhere AppleSMC fixes these issues and also that its the voltage throughput to the CPU and not so much the fan?...

My fan only switches on full when it gets extremely hot, and seems to run at a low speed in normal state.

I've also tried using a laptop fan cooler underneath and it made a difference of maybe 2C less...

I noticed this issue whilst installing the MacOSx so when installing ran it next to an air conditioner to help cool down.

Also read that ACPI in the bios need to be switched off? Well my bios is very limited and doesn't have anything like that in it...

Is it fixed through the Kernels, Kexts, ACPI, APIC, SMC, Bootloaders??? Can someone shed some light on this please? It would be of huge help to a lot of readers out there from what i have read through some sites.

Thanks Heaps guys!
