andynotts
Thought I'd share my new build with everyone. Thanks to Tonymacx86 and Macman for ##### and #####. Thanks to Conti for MyHack Thanks to everyone who wrote guides and forum posts I've trawled for this. What's in the box... Gigabyte H55M-S2H motherboard Intel i3-530 processor Zotac GT240 1GB Zone Edition graphics card Samsung F3 1TB hard drive Samsung Blu-Ray drive Seasonic 330W PSU Big Shuriken CPU cooler....real bugger to fit SilverStone Grandia GD04 Case I used the ##### Supported bootloader Retail OS X 10.6.0 install disc Updated to 10.6.4 then ran a combination of MyHack and ##### with the DSDT from this site. Actually that's pretty much all there was to installing. It took a lot of trial and error. I could not get ##### to work properly, I think it's a case I need to RTFM. I followed the standard method to begin with, installed OS X then immediately ran the 10.6.4 combo update. After the update rebooted still using #####, not essential but I knew the update hadn't killed anything and everything still worked. At this point I had tried a few different methods, Easy and #####, neither would boot after running, it was stuck in a reboot loop, I think I had the wrong kernel because it couldn't get to the grey Apple screen even or possibly an issue of me using a 1TB HDD. If I just ran MyHack it would load but with no USB, and then I could't reboot using ##### because it would kernel panic. So I used MyHack to install the Chameleon bootloader and sort out the kernel, it seems to do that automatically and very well. Then without rebooting I ran ##### for the DSDT and kexts. End result a fully working system. Im running this as a Plex media centre, the graphics card is 1 of the few fanless HDMI cards I could find and PSU and CPU fans are very quiet, you can hear it but you have to be listening. I don't think it looks out of place under a TV. Only problem I've had was when I added an extra HDD it refused to boot, took the drive out and ok. I need to look at that some more not an issue today but in a month I'll be dying for more space. I don't think it's a Hackintosh issue actually not sure the BIOS is trying to boot off the correct drive.
