Since 10.6.4 isn't listed on the OSx86 compatibility list, I thought I'd post this here and hope someone sees it to add to the list.

Gateway M6827 Laptop

Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5750

Chipset Intel GM965

3072 MB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM (1+2)

Intel GMA X3100

160GB 5400 RPM SATA hard drive

Modem Integrated V.92 56K

10/100 Ethernet LAN

802.11 a/b/g wireless LAN

I used iPortable Snow x86 10.6.2, which was the only distro I could get to work. It worked the first time. Then, just for the fun of it, I tried using Software Update via Apple. Low and behold it installed without a hitch. But, there are a few things missing:

Sleep won't stay asleep

Restart doesn't work as it does on a real Mac

Shut Down stops OSx86, but doesn't turn off the laptop

and of course Wifi

I'm a total novice at this, who just got lucky. Even lucky enough to be dual booting with Windows 7 Pro.

I'm so novice that one of the reasons I may not be able to get these three items to work is, I don't know what extensions, if any, I'm supposed to delete after installing the new ones. Also not sure if they go in the S/L/E or Extra folder. One problem I've had is that Kext Help b7 will not quit without a force quit being performed. Another problem I've had, which I probably shouldn't mention, is that I don't get any responses to questions asked on various forums.

If anyone could offer assistance on the problems I'm having and/or on the missing features, I would really appreciate some help. Thanks, Hozey
