Hi All,

A noob question!

My iMac of 5 years has finally given up the ghost...

I turned it on and now i have a fat white bar running vertically through the screen.

Been lurking on the boards for a few days now and trying to be a sponge and learn all i can. Ideally looking to build a Hackintosh that will run well and be pretty trouble free. Apparently that is the holy grail. Getting all the components to work together flawlessly seems to be a big issue.

I have an Asus P5KPL-CM board at the moment, not ideal i know but that is what my pc came with. I have Leopard running on it, no sound and no internet. Atheros seems to not be cooperating for anyone!

So i was wondering if there are any parts i could use from my iMac to patch into my pc to get it working any better? I know the harddrive is good, the only problem i can see is that it is from a ppc iMac and i want to use it in an intel pc.

Any ideas?

Otherwise i will keep trolling the forums looking for stable configs that i can build.

Thansk,

Andrew
