RAM restricted to 4 GB on GA-EX58-UD5 Mobo

Hi,

I have just assembled a pc from the following components:

Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5

Intel i7 930

GTX 260

12GB kit (4GBx3), 240-pin DIMM, DDR3 PC3-10600 memory module

Hard drives, DVD writer, case, P.S.U, display, Mac box set, etc.

I initially had a problem in that the mobo failed to complete POST, sticking at 6b - 6f. Eventually I discovered that it would only POST successfully with just 1 RAM strip in either DDR3_1 or DDR3_3 (second and fourth slots from the processor). All three strips work in either position but I have found no way to get it to POST with more than 1 strip of RAM.

I installed 10.6.3 using Kakewalk and it functions well. There are some issues still to be sorted but the major one is the inability to install more than one 4 GB RAM module.

I have searched this forum and elsewhere for some relevant reference to this problem but without success. I would be grateful if someone could point me in the direction of a solution.

In terms of computing resource I have several macs running Leopard, Snow Leopard 6.4 and SL 6.3/Ubuntu on the Hackintosh. This house is devoid of windows.

Thank you.
