First of all, when can I post in the proper section and not be considered a newb/n00b/nub/newbie/whatever?

Second, my installation of Snow Leopard from Retail Disc fails when I insert it into the drive after the #####/Empire EFI bootloader starts and is displayed. Basically it works fine until I put in the Mac disc. Then the area under the Drives pictures where the text is displayed turns into a glitchy rectangle. The rectangle changes colors when I push the arrow keys.

Heres my pc stats.

Asus G73 Laptop

Core i7 Q720

ATI Radeon HD 5870

6GB Ram

500GB

I know someone has done it before successfully on my machine with Empire EFI loader.

There was a post on here earlier but I can't find it. Search didn't help.

I used that and ##### ATI but both still give the glitch.

I also used the boot args: -x -v maxmem=4096

because the earlier post that worked said he used those.

The glitch happens as soon as i have the SL CD in and push F5. Then I can't select the CD Drive and the only thing available is the Windows partition.

Is it the DVD, bootloader, my comp??
