Good Morning

i've installed recently Snow Leopard on my dv6-1108sl

and work all fine except for the video (i used dong kext).

Now i read that with dsdt pathced cpus=1 uis no more needed.

but if remove the flag i got a kernel panic.

Panic (cpu 1 caller 0x2ad638):"Local Apic Error , ESR 64\n"@/sourcecache/xnu/xnu-1456.1.25/osmfk/i386/lapic.c:649

someone can help me why this happen if there's a way to make both of my core running?

thank you in advance for the reply

i added the dsdt for dv6 dv7 notebook with no error but i can't get both core running.

I'm having the same problem with a HP Pavilion DV7-2111tx. It's a Core2 Quad core.
I'm pretty sure it's a BIOS issue I'm afraid so it doesn't look like a fix is available.

Anyone know any better?

i have the same problem with a pavilion dv6-1240 laptop and so it is for many other owners of dv6 and dv7 series.
it seems to be a bios bug not fixable via a DSDT patch but you can fixe it by patching lapic.c file from XNU source code
