Alex HQuest
Didn't worked in here. Sapphire HD4850 512Mb HDCP+DVI+VGA. Snow Leopard 10.6.2 64-bit. Vanilla ATI drivers. Garbled screen with GraphicsEnabler=Yes (from PC EFI v10.5) or with EVOEnabler, Kernel Panic without. Does it needs any particular version of Chameleon, PC EFI or EVOEnabler? Alex HQuest
Sapphire ATi radeon HD4850 512Mb I tried a lot of things to make this card working, none of them has succeeded. evo enabler aty_motmot modifying device id graphics enabler. I wonder if it will be working one day. "Best" results I got was using DVI connection, EVOEnabler.kext and adding 0x94421002 to ATI4800Controller (either via manual edit or via LegacyATI4800Controller.kext on /Extra). On this setup, I got a black screen. Found SL is putting my monitor to sleep and don't want to wake it back. *sigh*
peterios
Hello For my card Gygabyte HD 4850 YOU ONLY NEED: PC-EFIV5 with graphics enabler in com.apple.boot.plist like this <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> In system/library/extensions Find ATI4800Controller.kext In Contents/info.plist Find <key>IOPCIMatch</key> <string>0x94401002 0x944a1002</string> Replace with <key>IOPCIMatch</key> <string>0x94421002 0x944a1002</string> Repair autorisation Reboot with -f (important)

averser freeman
Hrm, doesn't worked out on me - 4850 1GB (Gigabyte DVI/HDMI/VGA) I had managed to get it working eventually by updating to 10.6.2 (combo) subsequently installing ATY_Init.kext and LegacyATI4800Controller.kext to /S/L/E not to /Extra. So I hadn't modified any original Apple kexts (except deleting ATI4500Controlled.kext and ATI4600Controlled.kext). Video playback and transparency works fine. Though system profiler doesn't mention qe/ci. Outs DVI for monitor and HDMI for tv.

WSh
I'm sorry for the bump. I got "snowleo" distro, which i think it is 10.6.0, no updates. chocolate kernel, EVOsomething for the ATI which is a Sapphire 4850 512mn VGA+ DVI+ HDMI, on a mobo with a 8300 chipset and a PhenomII. I did what it's told here, installed the three pkgs, rebooted... out of range. Tried "graphics mode"blabal to my native res... out of range. Tried safe mode... out of range. I modified the kext from single user, added the ID, saved, and did chown and that (i think that i did the permission thing manually). Rebooted with -f... out of range. Rebooted again in safe mode.. the same. I don't know what else to do =( Anything (related to this) would help. Thanks
