Anurag Simgeker Posted October 21, 2009 Share Posted October 21, 2009 I have a perfectly working Kalyway Leopard 10.5.2 updated to 10.5.8 Managed to get Wireless LAN working with Thinkpad abg AR5212 Atheros Chipset card that i bought from EBAY.I originally had an Intel 3945ABG which din't work. Here is the problem: Ever since i installed the new Atheros card, I get random kernel panics whenever i use the internet. The system boots up fine, the moment i open Safari and OPEN a page, boom KP. Or, after system boot I start Yahoo! Messenger, Hit Sign-in and KP again. This doesn't happen every time, but its quiet frustrating. Sometimes, the internet works for a while, and then pages don't open. I have to turn off airport and turn it back on, may work or may crash again. Very Random. I got the wireless card working by editing the PLIST file under /System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AirPortAtheros.kext/Contents by adding pci168c,1014 string to IoNameMatch. I tried using another Atheros plugin by the same above edit process, card works, but random panics. My Specs are in my Signature. Any help is appreciated.
