So my friend just built a new computer using an i7 920, msi x58 pro-e motherboard, 6GB ddr3 1066 ram, and a nvidia 9600gt 512mb. He is using windows 7 rc1 as his primary os, and I thought since he supposedly has a more compatable computer than me, I would try osx on his computer. I have an old 20gb ata/IDE drive that I'll be puting into his system and installing osx on, and I have no intention of having his other drives connected during use/install (no dual boot stuffs, just trying out osx), so this drive will be the only hdd available to the system during the install etc. He has a sata DVD drive I forgot to mention as well. Basically I was wondering if someone could show me a very simple list of what I need to do to install 10.6 on this computer. Links to good guides would be helpful, as well as what distribution to use (should I just wait for ikaros?)

So far I think that I'll have to:

1. Pick a distro (which is the easiest/simplest one?)

2. Install chameleon 2 rc3 (noob guide for this?)

3. Install distro

4. Dsdt?

5. Drivers?

Any simple/easy/step-by-step/consolidated checklist or guide for installing sl on an i7 would be helpful.
