I've been having problems with my MBP crashing, usually during startup, for a while now. It's driving me bonkers. I've done archive & reinstall, fixed permissions, hardware scans, PRAM and PMU resets. The whole 9. I don't get a kernel crash with the shut down screen, instead it goes black and the fans spin like mofos. I think I've isolated it to kextcache but have no idea WTF this is. Two questions: 1.) How do I delete kextcache?? I've removed the Extensions.kextcache and the Extensions.mkext files several times but the problem keeps reoccurring. 2.) I have a copy of OnyX already. I've never had Onyx installed so I couldn't say. I got a copy of LCC and tried it, as well as deleting the kextcache file. Unfortunately the problem persists, and thus my diagnosis was off the mark. Thanks a ton for your help Beerkex'd. I think I'm going to start a new thread and see if someone can help me figure this out. Edit to add: New thread here. (I really need help, so please read.
