Anybody build an OSx86 media center with ATI card?

Trying to turn my hackintosh into a Boxee media center. Finding out the hard way that nVidia + TVout don't want to play together.

Reading the forums it sounds like ATI cards do a pretty good job working with the Apple DVI -> S-vid/Composite dongle. (nVidia cards, not at all.) So I'm researching the right ATI card that will give me stable TV out. So far I've read here that the 3870 is "confirmed" s-vid and composite.

Is anybody else out there successfully using TVout, either directly from their card or using a DVI dongle, with an ATI card?

My system specs:

DFI Lanparty P35 T2RS

Core2Quad (Q6600, G0 stepping)

2x1GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2-800

nVidia 6600GT (PCIe)

Tuniq Tower 120

PCP&C 610W PSU

nVidia 7900GS

XxX Leopard 10.5.5

Its not that tv-out doesnt work, you just need to find a good nvcap value for your card. You can have the correct nvcap by *afaik* dumping your video card firmware(bios) and checking it with a program. If you cant do that, just ask for nvcap values or search and you may found the correct one! :)

Hm that may be correct, although NVInject states "Default NVCAP is for PCIe 7900", which is exactly the card I have. TVout works on boot, just not in OS. I've scoured the forums and not found a single report of either (a) TVout or (B) DVI->composite dongle working with an nVidia card.
