effinpc Posted August 5, 2009 Share Posted August 5, 2009 hello everyone im new to this site but have read a lot on here. well i read a post a couple of months ago, it was about a mac pro build. i cant find it any more but what he did was built a mac pro using mac pro parts. he installed a copy of mac os x bought from the apple store. i was looking to do the same thing for a big school project i have to do (since i want a new mac pro and need to do a project i thought hey kill two birds with one stone). so right now im looking for parts and im having trouble find part or even choosing the right ones. i know that for this to work i need to have the power supply and logic board to be apple. i would like the case too. right now im focusing on find the right logic board. i looking for closest to the new model and i want to use the 8 core one. i found these here but i cant tell the difference here are the links. http://www.applepalace.com/apple-mac/apple...hz-661-4449.asp http://www.applepalace.com/apple-mac/apple...re-661-4307.asp to me they look the same except the pic but the post i was reading the guy bought a dev. board and had to get it replaced. i dont want to run into that problem. i also found the power supply on ebay for $200 i think thats a far price but if im wrong please correct me. if any one ones a good site to get these parts cheeper that would be great thank you giovanni Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
