Evga GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512e

Chipset Model: Graphics by NVIDIA

Type: Display

Bus: PCIe

PCIe Lane Width: x16

VRAM (Total): 512 MB

Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de)

Device ID: 0x0613

Revision ID: 0x00a2

ROM Revision: NVinject 0.2.1

Lots of Ram/external drives

Problem:

Create a time line in FCP

import/capture QuickTime .mov's and still images

Drag to time line

Drag Qt to V1 on time line

Drag Image(.png) to V2 on time line

Create movement for the still using key frames --- rise from botttom of screen/ slide in / slide and scale, ect.

The image has the green preview line above it in the sequence,

when I play the timeline in preview mode everything plays as it should--@ low res.

Once I render the timeline/sequence the still just pops on where the movement stops.

If I load the still in to the canvas the keyframes are still there and the movement plays correctly.

but from the timeline all I get are blank frames till the still comes to a stop for more then one frame.

Does anyone have any idea what might cause this behavior?

I have created new projects and used the same footage and still with same result

new projects with different footage and different still same result

tried rendering to a different HD--firewire and internal sata.

After effects works fine---so I am assuming this has something to do with the FCP render engine---

Any suggestions?

Edit:

Must be my video card/

I rendered one of the bad Sequences/timelines in FCP on an old G5 and on that machine the QT mov plays fine.

When I transfer the same .mov to the hackintosh the play back is very similar to the problem above.
