Ok, i have the same problem and im pissed at nobody answering a thread...

I did some research and took a look at the mini PCIe wireless card in my Notebook and it says "Atheros AR5B91" on it, i turned it around and took a look at the actual IC, which read Atheros AR9281.

Upon further research the 9281 is a single Band B/G/N chip. Here are some links:

http://www.atheros.com/news/AR9280_AR9281.htm

http://www.atheros.com/pt/bulletins/AR9281Bulletin.pdf

Now here comes the EXCITING part! Take a look at the second link and you'll see it says "Driver support for Windows XP, Vista, Mac

and Linux operating systems" I hope this is true but i havent found any driver for mac, i'll keep researching though :P

Sorry for the confusion. We are under legal agreement with Apple not to provide the requested drivers to anyone. For issues regarding driver support or customer service related to your wireless card, please contact Apple. We suggest you refer to the Apple's website, as they typically offer online technical support pages where software drivers, updates, and other related information can be obtained.

Thank you for your understanding.

Thank you for fast response, but I couldn't find drivers for OS X (and

drivers for 9281 at all) on that page.

No, the Orangeware driver does not work with Intel machines or 10.5. This is from their FAQ:

Is your Wireless Driver supported under Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)?

We do not support Mac OS X 10.5 and are not planning an upgrade.

so any new for the drivers? i cannot find it anywhere :)

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=234570

that works for this except device id 2a is supported already.= (tape pin 20 to turn on wifi. to bypass oem switching method.)

SNow Leo only. i have askey from toshiba A305 after 10.6.5 it stopped working. i dloaded combo update 10.6.4 and pacifist and installed io80211.kext then it started working again.

however the similar card with DUAL transmitter wont work most times aw-ne772 AR5BXB92 in my dell

but AR5BXB91 tohiba does. ( had to check my HPET, RTC and TMR irq's in DSDT)

i add subvendor id of apples card 0x8f in dsdt :)

                Device (ARPT)
               {
                   Name (_ADR, 0x00)
                   Name (_PRW, Package (0x02) {0x0B, 0x05}) // If you want WOL(Wake on LAN support) if not use desired sleep state
                   Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized)
                   {
                       Store (Package ()
                           {
                               "AAPL,slot-name", Buffer () {"AirPort"},
                               "device_type", Buffer () {"AirPort"},
                               "model", Buffer () {"Atheros 928x 8802.11 b/g/n Wireless Network Adapter"},
                               "subsystem-id", Buffer () {0x8F, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00},
                               "subsystem-vendor-id", Buffer () {0x6B, 0x10, 0x00, 0x00}
                           }, Local0)
                       DTGP (Arg0, Arg1, Arg2, Arg3, RefOf (Local0))
                       Return (Local0)
                   }
               }

if this dont work you might need to "tape pin 20"

also Leo 10.5.x wont work with ar5b9x cards that i know of (apple has not made driver if ever).
