Spoo Posted November 14, 2008 Share Posted November 14, 2008 Hi @all, I know that there are many topics regarding the blue screen with the mouse cursor but i didn't find anything that helped me so far. I installed iAtkos v4i on my Xi2528, selecting speedstep, sata and network (realtek) kext. After the installation the system booted and after disabling sleep the system seems to work fine with vesa 1024x786 and no QE/CI. I tried to install different NVidia drivers (NVinject, NVinjectGo, edited the kexts manually as described in the stickys, nvinstaller , 9f32, NVDarwin, etc) but the only thing I get is a blue screen with only the mouse cursor on it, but with the correct resolution. Attaching a external monitor at the vga port does not help either. Booting with -x showed me the login mask, but after logging in I still have a blue screen with a mouse cursor. Is this a problem i could solve editing the NVCAP value? It would be great if someone could point me to the correct direction. Regards, Spoo Edit: The ID is 0x042510de and it got 256MB dedicated RAM Edit2: I installed the Leopard Graphic Update when trying iAtkos v2i. Does ist make sense to try that on 10.5.4 too? Edit 3: When installing NVDarwin I can see a console message that says "8600M GS", so i thing it has detected the graphic card correctly. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Spoo Posted November 16, 2008 Author Share Posted November 16, 2008 Mhh I installed NVkush and every third boot or so the gui is loaded with the right resolution, but locks up, after the dock and the upper bar is shown. Is this a graphic problem or is something different causing this problem? Does anybody know a log file I can take a look at? Edit: ooook, i took a look at the windowserver.log and I see the following over and over again: Nov 16 13:49:48 [55] kCGErrorIllegalArgument: CGXSetWindowListTags: Operation on a window 0x6 not owned by caller loginwindowNov 16 13:50:22 [69] Server is starting up Nov 16 13:50:26 [69] CGXMappedDisplayStart: Unit 0: no display alias property Nov 16 13:50:26 [69] CGXMappedDisplayStart: Unit 1: no display alias property Nov 16 13:50:26 [69] kCGErrorFailure: CGXShapeWindow: Cannot chnage backing store size Nov 16 13:50:26 [69] kCGErrorFailure: Set a breakpoint at CGErrorBreakpoint() to catch errors as they are returned Nov 16 13:50:26 [69] CGXPerformInitialDisplayConfiguration Nov 16 13:50:26 [69] Display 0x28ce11c0: MappedDisplay Unit 0; Vendor 0x4ca3 Model 0x3847 S/N 0; online enabled (0,0)[1440 x 900], base addr 0x21c3000 Nov 16 13:50:27 [69] Display 0x5b810281: MappedDisplay Unit 1; Vendor 0x756e6b6e Model 0x40a S/N 0; online enabled (1440,0)[-1073749888 x -1073749888], base addr 0x21c3000 Nov 16 13:50:29 [69] GLCompositor: GL renderer id 0x00022606, GL mask 0x00000003, accelerator 0x00002923, unit 0, caps 0x00000003, vram 256 MB Nov 16 13:50:29 [69] GLCompositor: GL renderer id 0x00022606, GL mask 0x00000003, texture units 4, texture max 8192, viewport max {8192, 8192} extensions 0x00000007 0 libSystem.B.dylib 0x92c6f09b _sigtramp + 43 1 ??? 0xffffffff 0x0 + 4294967295 2 CoreGraphics 0x90e36843 CGSShmemRWLockLockForWritingWithTimeout + 4932 3 CoreGraphics 0x90e3638c CGSShmemRWLockLockForWritingWithTimeout + 3725 4 CoreGraphics 0x90e28787 CGSShmemGuardMutexUnlock + 16406 5 CoreGraphics 0x90e25949 CGSShmemGuardMutexUnlock + 4568 6 CoreGraphics 0x90e24ff5 CGSShmemGuardMutexUnlock + 2180 7 CoreGraphics 0x90e353b4 CGSYieldForOtherThreads + 16478 8 CoreGraphics 0x90e311f2 CGSShmemGuardMutexUnlock + 51841 9 CoreGraphics 0x90e2fc8d CGSShmemGuardMutexUnlock + 46364 10 CoreGraphics 0x90e200cc CGSInitializeKeyTransState + 24339 11 CoreGraphics 0x90e313ec CGSYieldForOtherThreads + 150 12 CoreGraphics 0x90e3c45a CGSShmemRWLockUnlockForWriting + 9955 13 CoreGraphics 0x90dcb5a9 CGXServer + 1106 14 WindowServer 0x00001ff4 main + 24 15 WindowServer 0x00001fbe start + 54 Nov 16 13:50:29 [69] kCGErrorFailure: CGXServerLoop: Received signal (11) at address 0xfe2bb201 0 libSystem.B.dylib 0x92c6f09b _sigtramp + 43 1 ??? 0xffffffff 0x0 + 4294967295 2 CoreGraphics 0x90e36843 CGSShmemRWLockLockForWritingWithTimeout + 4932 3 CoreGraphics 0x90e3638c CGSShmemRWLockLockForWritingWithTimeout + 3725 4 CoreGraphics 0x90e28787 CGSShmemGuardMutexUnlock + 16406 5 CoreGraphics 0x90e25949 CGSShmemGuardMutexUnlock + 4568 6 CoreGraphics 0x90e24ff5 CGSShmemGuardMutexUnlock + 2180 7 CoreGraphics 0x90e353b4 CGSYieldForOtherThreads + 16478 8 CoreGraphics 0x90e311f2 CGSShmemGuardMutexUnlock + 51841 9 CoreGraphics 0x90e2fc8d CGSShmemGuardMutexUnlock + 46364 10 CoreGraphics 0x90e200cc CGSInitializeKeyTransState + 24339 11 CoreGraphics 0x90e313ec CGSYieldForOtherThreads + 150 12 CoreGraphics 0x90e3c45a CGSShmemRWLockUnlockForWriting + 9955 13 CoreGraphics 0x90dcb5a9 CGXServer + 1106 14 WindowServer 0x00001ff4 main + 24 15 WindowServer 0x00001fbe start + 54 Nov 16 13:50:29 [69] kCGErrorFailure: CGXServerLoop: Received signal (11) at address 0xfe2bb201 and so on... Spoo Posted November 18, 2008 Author Share Posted November 18, 2008 Solution: A wrong NVCAP can lead to this error. For my Xi2528 with the 8600M GS the NVInjectGo.kext from this thread worked: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=134310 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
