I know there is a version of Darwine that will in fact work on 10.4.1, but I don't remember which one. So it is out there somewhere, it's just a matter of finding it. However, I would strongly suggest you upgrade to 10.4.4 or 10.4.5 as they are MUCH improved over 10.4.1, and you'll be able to use the latest Darwine builds. Also, since 10.4.4 is a final copy, you won't need to reinstall everything every time you want to update the system (although you'll still need to use patched updates).
