I've been trying to install leo4all in my 5051, but haven't been able to boot from that partition, so I'm about to follow your instructions in this topic and install Leopard as native. But the issue is that I'd like to have a XP partition and dual boot. Can do you tell me how to do it? May you create an image of your system with Acronis or similar and share it with us? Jose_76 Posted November 6, 2008 Share Posted November 6, 2008 Well, I tried to install de dvd "Leo4all -v4.1 AMD only" and...still waiting for root device I've tried about 6 different distros and and only one I could install was another Leo4all version, but when I tried to boot OSX didn't do a thing (without the dvd in) or stopped at "still waiting for root device" (dvd in). I installed some kexts, tboot, chain() and stuff supposed to solve this, but nothing. I'm just in the mood for dropping the acer down cliffs or something. That's why I asked you for an image of the system. I just want to have both XP and OSX in my 120gb Hd and be able to get files from one partition to another. That's it! I've just formatted C: and reinstalled XP so I could be certain that there's nothing strange with tboot, etc. (Ah! and the webcam never worked again after the first reinstallation) Then, I tried to install Leo4all 4.1 AMD Only and the same error: "still waiting for root device". Now I have to begin "think different" haha The spanish qwerty is slightly different because of the "ñ" letter, but found that the key "windows" acts as "cmd", and @ is cmd+2. It really works smoothly but the graphics, I find it laptop's weakest point with osx, but doesn'tdisturbs me much as I don't use it for gaming. The webcam is not working neither in XP or OSX and (as I read somewhere) it's possible that the reason is that simple as that it's unplugged due its turning ability. So I must open the top and check de plug, then look for the right drive... Moes, on the other hand, I've been searching for OSX compatibility for the Asus motherboard P4S8X (Nothwood P4 2.4GHz seems to work) and seems to me like better forget trying. Can you tell me? Only a question, does work corretly the fans, cpu temperature and cool&quiet amd in leopard for this laptop?because i've installed tiger uphuck 10.4.9 and i only get overheating. But now, I would like to have 1280x800 with 128mb ram not 16mb like it shows (I assume without qe/ci) anyone knows it would be this possible editting some plist or something? thanks! About vram, i noticed that was faster/smooth before patching to get full resolution (without any driver, 1024x768 and 128mb), overalls moving windows and watching photos. so i think is really 16mb, sadly... i'm reading again every slice post... if you get 128mb with 1280x800 even without qe/ci, tell me! and thanks a lot... I've been told that probably is unplugged. I tried to remove the screen fascia to get access to the cam, but don't know how to release it right around the cam and didn't want to break it. Do you know how to remove it? I think we can find drivers for it as it's built by a generic brand (see realtek or something like that). I found that info but don't remember now. Could you tell me please how did you resolve the 'waiting for root device' post-installation? 2. Do do have in leopard DVD- Burner working? because I have no optical drive!!!
