Technically, it doesn't circumvent any type of protection, but I suppose it would still be illegal even if the MP3 is not distributed. I'm pretty sure, that under the DMCA at least, that would be circumventing the indented purpose of the protection -- especially since you’re knowingly doing it to get around the protection. I don't know if there is any precedence on it or not. Do we have any Copyright Attorneys here that can better clear this up? Again, it’s just one of those issues the DMCA brings up that we’d be better off without. I was planning on purchasing the tracks through iTunes later, in case anyone was wondering.
