I have a modded Xbox with a 500gb (all movies and tv shows), i want to upgrade to an apple tv but need a way larger hd thank 160gb, can an upgrade to 500gb work? Synaesthesia Posted May 28, 2008 Share Posted May 28, 2008 Internally, it's a regular 2.5" HDD, like those in notebooks. I've seen up to 320gb drives, but I think there might be 500gb by now. Here's a guide to replace it. (basically, open it up, copy old drive's contents to new drive, and replace old drive with new). But even handier, here is a guide to a hack that allows you to use the USB port on the appletv to connect an external hard drive.
