I've been trying my damnedest to get my system working even remotely stable, but every time I think I've made progress, I just get screwed some more! I've tried swapping the video card out for a 6200, but that stabilized some issues and caused others. This is all on an AMD X2 4200 system with an nforce3 chipset. I've found that whenever I do certain things with the 6600 in, such as attempt to control the screen remotely or activate spaces, or even disable QE it will freeze. Not crash, not reboot, not even display a kernel panic, just completely freeze. Whenever I use the 6200, opengl will crash the system. Anything opengl based will crash the system. I generally don't have that card in so I can't remember what else is wrong with it. So, my question for all of you is, am I just screwed? Reverting to 10.4 is not really an option as I have become slightly reliant on my Time Machine, if only for backing up my iBook. This is just driving me insane now...
