Spent a week to get it installed.

A LOT of trials & errors, might as well document my experience for other's reference.

Originally I bought a Dell xps 8300, that was very straight forward to install with on board intel HD2000 graphics.

But the dell motherboard isn't compatible with galaxy 560 ti that I bought, so I ended up selling both and go custom build.

I was told that both ATI 6870 and gigabyte motherboard have excellent compatibility with hackintosh, so I went to microcenter and got

i5 2500k

Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3

8 GB 1333mhz ddr3

His ATI 6870 1GB

antec 300 case

ocz 700W power supply

and reusing my seagate 250GB 7200rpm hard drive + dvdrw drive

Prepared ##### with a 8gb flash drive

Installed lion on 250GB.

Network and display on DVI1 works out of the box

DVI2 isn't detected for some reasons.

Ran ##### 4.2.1

The correct combination to make audio works for me is

Drivers & Bootloaders

> Kexts & Enablers

> Audio

> Realtek ALC8xx

> ALC8XXHDR (checked)

> AppleHDA Rollback (checked)

> Non-DSDP HDAEnabler

> ALC889 (checked)

To get the second DVI to work, I have to run Chimera 1.7.0

after a reboot 2nd monitor is detected (no idea why installing a bootloader would make the 2nd display work)

At this point I have to use the ##### USB stick to boot OS X, Chimera or any combination in ##### wouldn't make os x to boot off hard drive alone (always get a kernal panic)

After some more research on here there are a bunch of people having the same issues.

So I followed one of the methods they used - allocating a 8GB boot partition to install ##### on it.

So I reinstall os x again, this time after booting off ##### flash drive, in disk utility, I choose 2 partitions, making the first partition 8GB and allocating the rest to the 2nd partition, and install os x on the 2nd partition.

After os x finished installing, I copied the Lion dmg file to os x, mount it and ran ##### to install it on the 8GB partition.

Finally I am able to boot os x without the usb stick.

phew, that's a lot of work!

What is in your org.chameleon.boot.plist file? I have the same configuration MB and GPU and I have not been able to get the 2nd dvi port to work at all. What brand GPU card do you have. I've got the gigabyte version, GIGABYTE GV-R687OC-1GD.
