  1. Any info on fixing this on 7 series chipsets? I'm currently running El Capitan on my Gigabyte GA-Z77N-WIFI and all of my usb ports work. During benchmark tests, my usb 3.0 ports test where I expected them to, so I'm not sure if I even need to worry about these fixes. The only thing that I found strange was my thumb drives don't show an eject icon when connected to a usb 2.0 port, but otherwise, things seem ok. Is it safe to ignore these fixes, or am I missing something?
  2. Err yeah, these are the correct steps... didn't see the missing cd line above heh
  3. I actually had to do exactly these steps in addition to your initial, otherwise I'd get stuck with a spinning beachball of death. Gigabyte GA-Z77N-WIFI + i7-3770k (no OC) Clover_v2k_r2692 installed as UEFI. I couldn't get the non uefi clover to work as it would never actually load the bootloader; just resets and locks up all my usb forcing me to reboot.
  4. The issue had nothing to do with org.chameleon.boot.plist. AS it happens, I found the solution shortly after posting this thread even though I'd spent hours beforehand searching. I essentially had to do what amounts to "sudo nvram -d boot-args" though a bit more involved since I'm running on raid0. But the outcome was essentially the same, nvram had cached the typed in "-f" boot argument so I had to clear it out.
  5. Hello, I'm having a serious issue with chameleon that is pretty much driving me insane. For some reason, every time I power on my machine, or reboot, chameleon is remembering a command I manually typed a while back. Basically, when going to the boot prompt screen (where you type commands), it always has "-f" typed in, and I don't know how to get rid of it. Normally, this wouldn't be such a huge issue but since I'm running off a raid0 set, I have to use the kernel cache, so any time I boot or reboot i have to sit there and manually remove the "-f" from the boot prompt otherwise I'll get the mach_kernel not found error. Also, just to make it clear, this isn't an issue with my using a raid0 set, and has nothing to do with it at all because it's been happening since I first installed mavericks GM last week on a single disk, and had to enter "-f" one time due to a kext issue I was having (before I even considered using raid). At any rate, if someone could please chime in and let me know how to resolve this, I would be eternally grateful as I want nothing more than to be able to use the QuietBoot option and turn my system on -- or reboot -- without having to sit there and manually remove the -f every time. Huge thanks in advance.
  6. Got 10.9 GM build up and running on my GA-Z77N-WIFI without issue. Pretty much the same process as 10.8.x There is, however, one issue I've been having since 10.9 DP 4, and that's with my audio. The simplest way to explain it is that my audio output has a lot of static feedback if 2 apps try to use the audio channel at the same time. So say I'm listening to music on itunes and then a notification sound plays... the line becomes staticky. Same if I'm watching say, a video on youtube then open logic pro x... or anything that ends up having 2 apps accessing audio output at the same time. As for drivers, I'm using the attached patched AppleHDA.kext with the necessary DSDT edits. Same one I used with 10.8.5. I'm not really sure what to do to resolve this issue though, so if anyone has some advice, i'd greatly appreciate it. AppleHDA.kext.zip
  7. I followed this guide for 10.9 and am not having any issues so far: http://www.macbreaker.com/2012/12/hackintosh-raid-0-mountain-lion.html
  8. I currently have 10.9 DP8 up and running on my Gigabyte GA-Z77N-WIFI board with a 3770k and so far, most things are working as they were in 10.8.5, except that I can't get speed stepping to function properly. I'm not over clocking in any manner. I've tried copying my working ssdt.aml from my 10.8.5 install - no dice I've tried generating a new one using ssdtPRgen - no dice I've tried a few different smbios definitions (mac mini 6,2 is what I used without issue in 10.8.5) to no avail If I recall correctly, I was getting at least 4 steps in 10.8.5, now i'm getting only 2: cjhmdm$ cat /var/log/system.log | grep "AICPUPMI:" Sep 28 21:15:28 Christophers-iMac kernel[0]: AICPUPMI: CPU P-States [ 35 ] Sep 28 21:15:29 Christophers-iMac kernel[0]: AICPUPMI: CPU P-States [ 16 35 ] All necessary dsdt edits have been made for my board as well. org.chameleon.Boot.plist has proper lines: DropSSDT: Yes Generate P-States: No Generate C-States: No BIOS settings have remained unchanged since i first installed 10.8.2 So I'm wondering if this is something that is just going to have to wait until 10.9 is actually released, or is there something I can do now in order to get this working properly? Also, does anyone know if it's possible to run both an nvidia gpu alongside the built-in intel hd 4000 ... with the nvidia gnu as primary? I can get both working at the same time but only if I set the HD 4000 as primary in the bios. The reason I'm asking is because I get some pretty annoying display issues when trying to run 3 monitors from my gainward gtx 660 ti phantom (DVI-DVI-HDMI). Thanks
  9. Maybe it's not hehe.. I dunno. I used "DSDT Editor" with option "extract dsdt from bios". I'm assuming then that it read my dsdt from the Lion root instead of actually extracting it >< I'll boot up SL with no dsdt tomorrow and see what I come up with then. My apologies ^^
  10. Here are both DSDT's.. the patched one from MaLd0n, and my untouched one extracted this morning. cjhmdm_z8na_d6c_patched.dsl.zip cjhmdm_z8na_d6c_unmodified.dsl.zip
  11. Well, I was using the dsdt that MaLd0n patched for me*.. the original I extracted from my system was linked earlier but it seems the thread has been removed. Once I get all preparations for the move made, I'll extract a new one and post it back here. *There was a thread a while back, I think for a dsdt auto patcher he made, but my configuration wasn't listed so he patched it manually. Knowing nothing about dsdt myself, I just used the one he patched and left it at that ^^
  12. Yep, received the stick many moons ago.. thanks again for that Sorry for the delayed response.. I've been quite swamped with work for the longest time.. The dsdt I supplied was the native one extracted from my system. I never tried using your dsdt since our cpu's are different. One thing I did notice though is even after my dsdt was patched, my machine still ran hotter than I would've liked.. and graphics weren't all that great on my 560 Ti (after I managed to get full 3d support) so I eventually dropped it for a while. Anywho.. I'm considering giving this another run since I had to enroll in the developer program and well, it doesn't do me any good if I don't have a mac/hackamac to work with it on hehe. I'm waiting to see how things perform in a virtual machine first.. but so far, not very well.. so it' likely I'll be up all night working on this and setting stuff up again hehe. I'll keep you posted with anything new I find out, if any.
  13. I haven't really worried about it since so far my only issue is specifically with Text Edit app.
  14. You sir, are nothing short of awesome. I'll try this out and see how it goes. Thanks again! EDIT: Wow... BIG correction. This isn't for the K9A2 Platinum motherboard... it's for the MSI 785G-E65. Can't believe I made such a huge mistake...
  15. Thanks again for the last one you sent me. Everything seems to be working perfectly fine aside from sleep... it appears to work, and maybe it does. When I send the system to sleep, it goes through the motions... but nothing seems to power down even the slightest. Oh well, I can live w/out sleep in any case. My next request might be a bit more difficult as I could never even get it to compile with no patches due to what I guess is poorly written code. Motherboard is MSI K9A2 Platinum - it's AMD, and will be used with snow leopard since there's no amd kernel for lion yet. I extracted the dsdt files from windows using you attached files for lin&win. I hope these are the proper files you need (1 .dsl file, 3 .dat files) Thanks again if you can help with this one ^^ msi_k9a2_platinum.zip
