  1. Anybody out there? I got a Studio 14z the other day to play around with and I used TMX86 utility to install Mountain Lion on it. Got ethernet OOTB and updated to 10.8.5. Video works fine with Graphics Enabler set to Yes. I'm wondering if any of the fixes listed here will work with ML? I read the entire thread. I have some of the files listed, but almost none of the mediafire links worked. Oh well...
  2. Okay, I reconfigured the myHack installer and tried to boot it on the Foxconn G33M system. Thought it was going to work, but got stuck at the spinning beach ball. Will give it a try on the GA-P35-DS3L tomorrow. Hope to get better results. EDIT: I gave it a shot this morning, but got the same results so unless I apply all of the fixes from the Roche video method onto the myHack installer, it simply doesn't work, at least on the 2 systems I tried it on. Bottom line is this is just the first DP and I don't plan to waste anymore time on it. I'm sure things will improve once the OS matures some in later previews. At least I hope so!
  3. FYI I am currently making a new myHack 10.9 installer using an MBR partition scheme. This is the only way I can boot my Foxconn G33M system, it simply won't boot from a USB GPT partitioned device. Once done I will install the later version of Chameleon and the special boot file to see if that will allow me to use it to install 10.9. I will report back with my findings. EDIT: The 8 Gb flash drive was partitioned using Disk Utility with a single partition using the MBR partition scheme instead of GUID. Formatted the partition as Mac OS Journaled and then I used myHack 3.2 Beta 8 to install the Mavericks DP1. Next I used the files in the DP1 Essentials found here: http://rochetechnology.com/quick-hackintosh-tip-installing-10-9-mavericks-developer-preview/ and basically followed his directions in the video starting with replacing the mach_kernel and continuing to the end. There is a good chance that just installing the version of Chameleon included and then replacing the boot file and adding your Extra folder would have been sufficient, but decided to try doing all the stuff he recommended first. I may go back and try again by just doing the Chameleon stuff and adding the Extra folder to see what that does. FYI this method seems to work. I am presently installing Mavericks on my Foxconn G33M system. I will add more after I finish. EDIT 2: System locked up with less than a minute to go. At this point I am recreating the myHack installer one more time, but this time I will only install the Chameleon version and boot file included in the Essentials pack and add my Extra folder. Will see what that does.
  4. This HP DC7700 does not have a proper AHCI BIOS and as such requires a special kext added to the /Extra/Extensions folder in order to see the internal hard drives. Here is a link to the kext you need: https://www.google.com/url?q=https%3A%2F%2Fdl.dropbox.com%2Fu%2F47221269%2FAppleIntelPIIXATA2.kext.zip&sa=D&sntz=1&usg=AFQjCNGXwaav-698lwcKLoCRZBsxjJd_lA After you unzip the file, put it in the /Extra/Extensions folder on the installer flash drive and it should allow you to see the other drives on your DC7700. FYI the DC7800 is the same way. HTH
  5. Nice! I gave up a long time ago on having the latest/greatest. It's a never ending battle and it gets kind of expensive after awhile!
  6. I can't promise it will work, but it should. I have used this method for MBR partitioned hard drives in the past. I use SuperDuper, but Carbon Copy Cloner should also work. You will have to install the proper Chameleon and boot file over to that partition. Let us know how it works out. What system did you install this on? Also did you use the version of Chameleon which the myHack installer used or did you install a later version?
  7. Sorry, turns out I did an update to the drive I thought I was doing a clean install to. But it worked, so that was good. Now I'm trying a clean install, but I have your beach ball. How long did you wait for it to go away? Seems on one of my attempts I had it, but it went away after what seemed like forever. Funny how it works fine one time and then you try again on the same system and get a different result.
  8. Certain versions of SL didn't work with a Core i3. This was fixed in later releases. Your system should have no problem running Lion, Mountain Lion or Mavericks, but just because it is capable does not mean it will. Give this method a try.. It's not that hard, but not as easy as myHack: http://rochetechnology.com/quick-hackintosh-tip-installing-10-9-mavericks-developer-preview/ I listened to the entire video and then started and stopped it while I was making the installer flash drive. FYI it only worked on one of the 2 systems I tried it on so far, but I plan to try others when I have the time.
  9. I'm typing this from Mavericks booted up on my GA-P35-DS3L. I have not been able to try out the latest Chameleon on the myHack installer yet, but still plan to. Video works fine with graphic enabler set to yes, but I had to use ##### to install the Lnx2Mac Realtek driver for ethernet. More when I know more. @ILIusion: Core2Duo has been a requirement since Lion came out as the OS is 64bit only now. I believe there were some tweaks which would allow Lion to run on a Core Duo, but I've forgotten what they were by now!
  10. The method above seems to be working as I am presently installing Mavericks on my GA-P35-DS3L. I may go back and try to use the same version of Chameleon on the myHack installer to see if that helps once I follow the present course of action through. Will report my findings.
  11. Not all Intel CPUs are compatible. What are your system specs? Has anyone tried this method yet? http://rochetechnology.com/quick-hackintosh-tip-installing-10-9-mavericks-developer-preview/ He says a new Chameleon version is necessary and an even newer boot file. I may give this a try.
  12. Yep, have tried all combinations of -x -v -f, all the same result. Have now tried on 3 different systems, Foxconn G33M, Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L and MSI P55-GD80. Wish I could get that far! I've tried with and without DSDT. Graphics enabler set to No seemed to help a bit as well as npci=0x3000 in the Boot.plist. Both got me a little further in the verbose boot, but then the screen goes dark (loss of signal) and nothing else happens. I am using the same version of Chameleon that myHack installed, is there a better version to try?
  13. I can't get past this. I've tried it on 2 different systems, both single monitor, one using a GeForce 210 video card and the other an 8400GS. I've tried with and without Graphics Enabler, but the result is the same, loss of signal to the monitor and then nothing. No more activity at all from the flash drive.
  14. I don't think anyone expects these machines to be fast, but they seem to be well built and will work very well for web surfing, email, etc. And they can be found for little money in most cases, I got my DC7700 for $49 with free shipping on ebay. The processor was a Pentium D 945, but I swapped an E4500 and it works great! I did get sound working under ML using the procedure and files here: http://www.osx86.net/view/3103-alc262_applehda_10.8_hp_dc7700.html But unfortunately it only works for ML, not Lion. I use VoodooHDA v. 0.2.1 under Lion which works fine. I use a cheap USB sound dongle on the DC7800. With it's Analog Devices codec it produced random KPs when booting using VoodooHDA .
  15. Sound does work under Mountain Lion with the procedure & files here: http://www.osx86.net..._hp_dc7700.html I did not need or use the HDAEnabler.kext, but I did patch the HDEF section of the DSDT as shown. Unfortunately, I could not get it to work under Lion, but VoodooHDA v 0.2.1 seems to work just fine. I used the install method in this guide: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Mp9g9oFPXLQhBbofosDocTuRGzBwTxN0EHznCaOdI2s/edit
