hi, i want to resize my os x partition as it is too small. i can make free space after it by shrinking ntfs/fat32 partitions using 'boot-it ng' utilities but that will not the change hfs+ partition. i need an app to do this and paragon 10 seems to be the only one. has anybody done this with this program, before i buy it?

otherwise, i could image the partition, clear it then resize, then reload the image? does that work with hfs+, what is recommended (safe-ish) way? thanks

If you have a GUID partition table OSX will let you resize your partitions on the fly. If not clone them using Disk Utility and reclone em back, once you are done. Make sure to do a bootloader/chameleon reinstall though.

thanks U.C. forgot to say, i multiboot (with boot-it ng) using mbr swapping so cannot resize from disk utility.

clone them using Disk Utility

i dont see a clone option

...Make sure to do a bootloader/chameleon reinstall though.

not sure what that means, i used iDeneb disk to install.

can i clear and resize partition and use time machine to reload? is everything in time machine backups? or could i re-install os x from disc then use time machine?

my boot loader will still have the settings to boot os x

so to answer my own question, after a couple of false starts and non booting os x :censored2: .....

i resized the partition with my boot-it bootmanager, formated to hfs+, did a full install from flash disk (forget dvds, it boots in 25secs) then restart and update from time machine as i set up. re-activate boot manager, job done :D
