macOS High Sierra - Final Release is out! (17A365)

Allan

The final release of macOS Sierra are available to download.

You can download it from App Store.

You can consult the list of useful tips created by @fantomas:

Soon we'll have the methods to create a Penboot to all Hacks.

You can use the createinstallmedia, and after the process been concluded just install Clover in your Pendrive. ;)

sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ High\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled —nointeraction

EDIT: The list above will be constantly been updated as we got new methods and fixes.

Hey guys, how goes.
I'm trying to install High Sierra on an external USB here, and it doesn't seem to work.
I've got the installer going, that completes fine to an external USB on APFS.
Then there's an initial reboot, at that time you need to boot the partition to continue the installation. That seems to reboot quickly.
I boot again to continue the installation, then that completes successfully in ~15 minutes.

But then when I try to boot the installed system, I get errors at the Clover level, in the apfs.efi  layer:

fs_read_stream:12997: failed to lookup pos 0 in obj 18
can't read cache..
read error 0x7

fs_get_inode_with_hint:7825: failed to load inode 764087 ret 22.

Anybody has an idea?

Thanks, and sorry for the off-topic. :) I was looking for that thread actually. And I could only find the closed one. I still don't have the update...for some reason. But thank you for the info!

If a mod could move my posts to the right thread, I would very much appreciate it. :)

It is not an update, you'll need to download the full installer

Alright, for those who are curious about 10.13.1 Beta 3 (17B42a), here is the solution to download the installer:

The link of 10.13.1 installer hasn't been changed, in consequence the old link is still available: macappstores://itunes.apple.com/app/id1209167288

Note: You need to copy/paste it in Safari, and Mac App Store will be launched with the download page of 10.13.1 Beta installer.

Oh. I forgot to mention. If you haven't enrolled your Mac/Hack with Developer Seed yet, you need to install a pkg from Apple, you can gather it here:             #26

To sum it up:

You can download 10.13.1 Beta 3 installer just like what you've done for the prior 10.13.0 Beta installers. Nothing changed.  ;)

I have Intel HD 630. Nvidia onboard but I am on laptop, so its optimum. We all know optimum does not work regardless. Anywayz, all through Sierra my graphics acceleration worked. After upgrading to High Sierra (10.13), it worked. Now that these new 10.13.1 beta releases are out, I get stuck with on the boot screen at  "IOconsole user...gIOLockscreenstate" <-(something like that) and can not boot into macos to login or anything. It looks like it is trying too as screen dims a little, but will not load to show graphic acceleration (or graphics period) as it has been doing in previous versions. Did something change since 10.13.1 beta update 2 graphic wise or something? 59168680 will not work. I have the latest apfs, intelgraphicsfixup, luli, coredisplay and the - boot tags. I'm on Dell XPS 15 9560 4k laptop on 10.13.1 Beta 3 (17B42a).

Well, I realize that I'm not be able to pass this by myself:

attachicon.gifIMG_20170927_185919641.jpg

What is missing?

Just for sharing, now I can answer this question:

Was missing a single dsdt fix: FixHeaders_20000000. Without it, I can't boot up into High Sierra.

Of course that I don't know why :) but, now I have system running better and faster then earlier.

Thanks to chris1111 for provide me a EFI to test.

does anyone have the patch for XHCI port limit Z270  on 10.13 (17A405) ?

I guess they should be the same as the Z170 series? What's the problem with your USB ports? As fa as I know you have two sets of USB 3.0 chipsets on your mainboard according to Asus's web site; Intel and ASMedia. Which ports doesn't work?

Intel® Z270 Chipset :

6 x USB 3.1 Gen 1 port(s) (4 at back panel, blue, 2 at mid-board)

Intel® Z270 Chipset :

6 x USB 2.0 port(s) (2 at back panel, black, 4 at mid-board)

ASMedia® USB 3.1 controller :

1 x USB 3.1 front panel connector port(s)

ASMedia® USB 3.1 controller :

2 x USB 3.1 Gen 2 port(s) (2 at back panel, black+red, Type-A + USB Type-CTM)

I have sleep problem with usb, if i unplug all the internal device the sleep works fine.

And i have some strange configurations in usb info like the screenshot.

I think the asmedia is linked to usbhost and cause the mistakes.

Are you using a CustomSSDT-UIAC.aml for USB ports? if not try to create one and see if that helps.

Yes, created and remove 6 entry that i don't use so i remain in 15 port limit.

But the problem still remain, i think is asmedia controller that cause this mistake...

As far as I know asmedia controller is not supported as well as the intel or other chipsets. What is the exact problem that you are having with the sleep?

I have instant wake After slepp. If i unplug the usb2 interna (from mobo) the sleep works well

Those USB 2.0 ports are on the Intel Chipset so it's not the problem on ASMedia. What happens if you drop the SSDT-UIAC.aml? on High Sierra all of my USB ports are working without the SSDT, only USBInjectAll.kext and the port limit patch.

before, i first selected dell l502x laptop, its good. but too loud fan noise, and heavy weight. take up a lot of space.

finally i selected hp probook 4230s for music box and installation snow leopard(i like it).

it has usb3.0/fingerprint(not work in osx)/modem(not work in osx).

and strong body and light weight and compact size. it support dd3rl ram. but use 1333 MHz. not important for me

also can control fan speed(thanks to rehabman). no more suffer fan noise.

arrived HS 10.13

Thanks, I'd put it already on Sierra because my hd5870 died :(

Also it works only with inject Nvidia unchecked, is this a problem?
