I already know this.

But unlike Nvidia Card, the arguements for ATI inside plist are not clear

I tried to make it work, but it shows in console that "G-state set to 0 from 0"

...try to post this problem in ATI section of Graphicscards it's a fairly active forum... and good luck :moil:

Hello, hackintosh noob here.

Just updated my hackintosh laptop (XPS M1530) running Lion 10.7.3 to 10.7.4. Unfortunately, it encountered a [PCI configuration begin] hang. I suspect that my Graphic Card is causing the problem. It's a 8600M GT.

Tried various boot flags, notably npci=0x2000, but so far no headway. Any advice from you guys?

had to remove sleepenabler.kext from E/E to move beyond instant restart

oddly enough now w. 10.7.4 sleep and wake-up suddenly work even w/o sleepenabler, LOL

Replaced the AppleSMC.kext from 10.7.3 and worked fine since. But my ALC888 is dead again and the old one won't work...

Btw I got stuck before the loginwindow shows up for a good while, and everything seems to be a little slow on my end, not sure if it's also other people or just me...

EDIT: Speed seems to be normal now; must be the cache being rebuilt...

While the system kext regression is never optimal, as a temporary or possibly permanent solution, roll back (revert) the latest

10.7.4 AppleACPIPlatform.kext version 1.5 to the 10.6.x AppleACPIPlatform.kext version 1.3.5.

Can someone upload the stock 10.7.4 AppleHDA? I wanted to mod it to my alc662 when I accidentally modded the backup file... ._.

edit.: nevermind, it works :D

Thanks for the reply. I'll try it out and see whether it works or not. Will post back with results.

...AGPM ...again needs adjusting for full-speed gfx(nvidia)GT 520

What's the version number of the nvidia drivers? I was hoping they might be at a similar state to the ML ones. They appear to have working power management without any kext edits.

What are these SMC errors all about? Seems like they are effecting real macs as well, at least my MacBook Pro (and some folks on apples official forum). Replacing with 10.7.3 kext doesn't really seem like the right solution in the long-run. And ML DP3 doesn't have the errors so I would guess they just screwed up and there will be an official fix sooner or later =)

EDIT: Otherwise, totally pain-less. Haven't done a thing afterwards.

The update has been quite messy for me on my laptop, having SMC issues, lots of SMCReadyKeyAction errors in the kernal log. My wifi kext got overwritten and I can't remember the method I used to get it working with 10.7.3, Voodoo battery isn't working properly, so OS X thinks it's running on battery when it's not. :wallbash:

The VoodooBattery.kext might be conflicting with the freshly updated (installed) AppleSmartBatteryManager.kext. Hence, delete the latter and rebuild the caches.

I noticed a tiny visual change in 10.7.4

look the launchpad folder border size (click to view bigger):

before the border was 2px, now it's 1px.

Everything's working fine on all systems overhere so far. That includes a Sager laptop and an old intel XBX1. Core i7 and i3 rig updated stellar.

I always download and install (Combo) updates. Never straight from Software Update.

No problem. I've just finished restoring my old 10.7.3 time machine backup and updated it to 10.7.4. Sadly it looks like the nvidia drivers haven't changed at all. Disappointing. I guess the Mountain Lion ones are getting all the attention. I also had a fermi freeze not long after the update.

However, I just checked the nvidia site and there are new 10.7.4 drivers for download there, so I'll try those and see if there's any change.

Nah, these "new" nvidia drivers are just as old. Don't know what they're playing at.

Ok, well, good news and bad news. I've replaced the AppleACPIPlatform with the one from DarwinX (from Windows using MacDrive) and booted using the boot flag -x.

Good news is that I was able to get pass the [PCI Configuration Begin] hang. Bad news is that I'm getting a "Waiting for root device" hang instead. I'll experiment a bit around and see how it goes.

Thanks for the help so far, and I appreciate it if any more advice comes my way.

If you have iStat Menus 3 installed, remove it, error message will disappear too ! This error is associated with some applications !!!

%50 lower geekbench scores reported (14K to 7K) from 2 machines after updating from 10.7.3. Asus P8Z68 with i7 2600K and P8P67 with i7 2700K. Both have modded bios' using stock cpupowermanagement without disabler.
