thearies
hey folks, after a journey through the land of osx86 i thought it´s no problem to get a 100% working atx board system e.g. i would chosse a gigabyte p35 chipset... but i´m looking for a stable m-atx system... is there anyone who is experienced with that. the HCL show me: INTEL BLKDG31PR or ASUS P5B-VM but maybe someone could tell me a better option greetings Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/99136-100-working-m-atx-boards/ Share on other sites
privatesnuffy
Well, I don't know of any. I did just order one from newegg, but it has one flaw, you have to patch the audio (which if you plan to use a usb audio device, it wont matter). Also, i think there are some graphic glitches with the gma950, but i don't plan on using it (i have a 7900gt for it). Gigabyte seems to be one of the better companies to support stuff, and i've always liked their boards from a pc perspective. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813128076 It's decent, and supports pretty much any of the newer core 2 duos (no quads) with the 1333mhz bus. Only downside is 667mhz, but due to asus's crappy board, thats what i use in my gaming system. agrajag
but i´m looking for a stable m-atx system... is there anyone who is experienced with that. the HCL show me: INTEL BLKDG31PR or ASUS P5B-VM but maybe someone could tell me a better option Did you look at the Gigabyte GA-945GCM-S2L or -S2C matx boards? They are 100% working. My -S2C runs on a vanilla kernel, with a small patch I applied to make restart and shutdown also work (instructions in another thread here). The -S2L version has gigabit ethernet and the S2C has 10/100 ethernet. The only downside is that support for 1333FSB is by overclocking only. Mine works very well with a 800FSB CPU (E4700 at 2.6GHz), and I am using PCIe graphics card (NVidia 7300GT) rather than the built-in 950 graphics, which apparently works but has a few glitches.
