mitch_de
Hi, i used the shared kabil 9.2.2 Kernel. But i had crashes with all 64 Bit Apps (geekbench 64 Bit , others) So i tried the modbin (which is on the Kaywel 10.5.2 DVD , kernel packages). It didnt crash 64 Bit ! How to check which kernel you use ? md5 modbin = dd649cd40bd51f0580b8420c405b788e md5 kabil = e64cbcf66af22dea83ce80d701334455 usage: open Terminal md5 /mach_kernel or , if you changes boot.plist /your_kernel_name Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/98755-922-kernels-modbin-vs-kabil-modbin-runs-64-bit-mode/ Share on other sites
muitommy
You could also check the kernel in this way. terminal strings "path to the kernel" | grep Darwin Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/98755-922-kernels-modbin-vs-kabil-modbin-runs-64-bit-mode/#findComment-706064 Share on other sites
Sabr
Or, even easier, just enter this in the Terminal: uname -a Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/98755-922-kernels-modbin-vs-kabil-modbin-runs-64-bit-mode/#findComment-706107 Share on other sites
mitch_de
Thanks. But you cant get the author (modbin, kaby, TOH,...) with uname -a . Would be good, if kernel patchers could add author name in the uname -a output. amiasus:~ ami$ uname -a (of modbin 5.3) Darwin amiasus.local 9.2.2 Darwin Kernel Version 9.2.2: Tue Mar 4 21:17:34 PST 2008; root:xnu-1228.4.31~1/RELEASE_I386 i386 amiasus:~ ami$ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/98755-922-kernels-modbin-vs-kabil-modbin-runs-64-bit-mode/#findComment-707043 Share on other sites

Nano2k
Well I switched to the Modbin kernel from the sleep kernel because my USB stuff didnt work with the sleep kernel. Can't run the 64bit geekbench though... muitommy
@Nano2k make sure the system.kext and kernel's version match b4 you say the usb stuff didn't work check the info.plist in the system.kext and type "uname -a" in terminal for kernel version. for your case, sleep should be with 9.2.0 version system.kext @Wraith you could find kabyl's kernel in IRC #ChasOSX86 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/98755-922-kernels-modbin-vs-kabil-modbin-runs-64-bit-mode/#findComment-707117 Share on other sites
