jagged Posted April 10, 2008 Share Posted April 10, 2008 Hi Within 24 hours my e8400 and a abit ip35 board will arive. I plan on going for a gfx 8800 grafics card and a noname dvd burner. So what distribution should i try to get a hold of ? Whats the procedure for installing. I dont really understand the whole issue about kernels is there a lot of different choices to make or is it basically just an install dvd that should run without to much work in command lines and such ? If someone could give me a few pointers to how the install procedure works I would be very thankfull. Coadey Posted April 10, 2008 Share Posted April 10, 2008 You can just install one of the pre-patched distros (Kalyway, iATKOS, JaS, etc). The one you pick depends most on your motherboard, so do a search for your specific model on the forum and at: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.5.2 That will tell you what patches you need to get, if anything, after the installation. Search the forum topics for "Guide" for an install guide.
