zijian
I've looked at my driver description, and all it says is Sigmatel High Definition Audio CODEC... which really doesn't help much. My laptop is a Dell XPS 1530. ive tried both Stac9200 and Stac9205 respectively, but when i tried to load them onto AppleHdaPatcher 1.20, it says sigmatel driver not detected or something along the lines of that... so if any one you can help me it would be greatly appreciated. if not ill be patient and scouting for solutions and hopefully i can find someway to get my audio working. btw, i copied this from vista device manager dunno if it'll help or not: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_8384&DEV_7616&SUBSYS_1028022E&REV_1002\4&21094DC0&0&0201 THANKS Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/98408-help-cant-figure-out-which-sigmatel-driver-to-install/ Share on other sites

I am also trying to find a solution because by using the procedures on this Forum on other threads I still have no audio. If anyone can help, thank you! I will post if I manage to find a solution. zijian
i feel that im so close to solving the problem, and yet so far. i found out that i need the 9228 driver, i downloaded the linux code and patched it with applehdapatcher. i also replaced ALCinject, and then repaired the disk. to my surprise, i got AUDIO!!! however, after i restarted my computer everything was gone again, and my brief moment of triumph was blown away. pointers anyone? anyway to make it work forever? cdizzle
Zijian, same boat as you... XPS M1530 and have tried the other methods posted around and have had no luck. Can you post any progress you've made with the Sigmatel audio? Any luck getting the sound to stay enabled after reboot. Also, I am new to osx86, so if you could post step-by-step instructions, that would be great. Also, what about the rest of your hardware on your M1530... I installed Kalyway 10.5.2 and most seems to be working fine (I had to install an nVidia driver separately... 8600M). Any help would be appreciated!
