dsballer2000
Hi All, I've search and searched and can not find a solution to this issue I'm having. After following this guide http://osx86.wikidot.com/how-to-s#toc7 I cannot seem to set my BOOT partition active. When i fdisk in terminal all I see is the raid partition(1.4xtbs) and can set that active if I wish to but then its still only booting from the RAID partition which is not what I want. Any idea on how to set the BOOT partition active even though its not a choice when fdisk. When i run diskutil list in terminal I do see the HSF BOOT partition but when i fdisk all I get is the one RAID partition. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I was wondering if I had a win98se boot disk if I could set the BOOT partition active through that instead. Haven't tried it yet but maybe I will give it a go. Thanks for any advice! Here is my setup: Core 2 Quad q6700 4gb(2x2gb) OCZ Platinum 2x750gb Seagate 7200.11 SATA hard drives 8800GT 512mb Just an FYI. I have successfully installed a dual boot with leopard and windows xp on a single harddrive so I've done the install before successfully but not with raid. I've only done this with guid but I found I had to install efi before I made the raid, I am guessing that this is the same, make boot + partition on one disk partition the other, make necassery changes to boot then make raid array. dsballer2000
Its weird. When I unhook the second drive and re partition the first drive(2 partitions) when I diskutil in terminal it shows the raid still. I don't have any traces of the raid but I still see it and its the size of the two drives put together(as if the second drive is still hooked up and they are raided). Any idea what's going on? thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/97991-cant-set-boot-partition-active-in-software-raid-setup/#findComment-700625 Share on other sites
