Hey, I have an Nvidia 6800XT, and no matter what combination of drivers I install, I get either the grey screen of death in regular mode, or a solid freeze in -v mode.

Any suggestions?

I have read about installing one of the drivers, it wont work, but then editing them in -s mode, so that they DO work... I have no clue how to do thi though. The only thing I have tried in -s mode was "fixing" the permissions for NVinject... which made things even worse... next was removing nvinject via -s.

PLEASE HELP! if you need more info let me know.

EDIT: to add to the errors I have received, I have also gotten the "Some extensions could not be loaded" error upon a "successful" boot.

What type of hardware do have. Type of motherboard and model#, etc. Leopard version and install method

It sounds like the errors you are getting with some of the extensions, is that the permissions aren't set right on the ".kext" file. Have you also deleted the "extensions.mkext" file in "/system/library" folder. What happens when you boot with the "-x" flag.

My specs are as follows:

I have an ASUSTeK P5LD2-VM Motherboard, A Pentium D 2.66GHz processor, I have an Nvidia GeForce 6800 XT 256mb, and 4GB or DDR2 Ram (by corsair).

more info on my specs in this thread if needed.

I have 10.5.2, installed with Kalyway DVD 10.5.1, and then Kalyway combo-updater.

I have nothing else set up on my OsXPC yet as I figured I might have to completely reinstall to get this working.

Currently I can boot into Leopard, but only if I have removed nvinject, or start in safe mode with nvinject. If I start in -x mode, Leopard loads, and says the extension couldn't be loaded because it was installed improperly. I did the terminal codes in -s to re permission the kexts and stuff, and that made it boot, but give the same extensions could not be loaded error, just now in a regular boot.

I have not deleted the file you specified, this is the first I have heard of that. I will try that now, are there any precautions before I do this?

Also, can you explain to me what all of these are? nvinject, natit, titan? Which ones are necessary? which one is the actual driver? and are the others just hacks to make it work better or something?
