My hardware:

Asus Formula Striker II (Nforce 780i)

Intel Q6600

XFX GF 8800 GTS 512

I am trying to install

10.5.1 Kalway

I got through the kernelloading (with too many errors i guess ;)), I get to the screen where i can select installation language, and it starts with "Preparing installation". The progressbar stops and looks like the installation is stopped.

I can still move my mouse though, so it is not completely frozen. I waited 20 minutes last time, should I wait any longer?

Should i try Leo4Allv2 instead?

I'm having the same exact issue and I have yet to find a solution. I'm running a 790i which is basically identical to the 780i exept with DDR3. I've got an xeon 3350 quad core yorkfield cpu thrown in there. I have an EVGA 8800GTS 512 too. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I got past the Preparing Installation problem by starting up with the "-v cpus=1" command at the dawwin promt. But now, when I try to install it, it wont go past about 3/4 of the way and stays still at 13 minutes remaining. I left it for an hour there and still no results. I was installing it onto an old old IDE harddrive, a 15 gig quantum to be exact, could that be the problem? Would I have better luck using an sata? I know the nvidia sata kext is still in beta so I don't know what to do  Can anyone shed any light on the 780i/790i boards? Theres nothing in the wikis on them yet either
