Frapp
I need a little bit of help with my MacBook Pro. A friend of mine recently gave me his Altec Lansing PC speaker system (2 Satellite, 1 Sub, desktop remote and IR remote). Right now I have it plugged into my Windows PC and believe me, these things sound awesome. I only play a few video games on the PC, so I feel that I'm just not using the speakers as they should, to make my music library sound awesome. I like running iTunes because the MBP doesn't sound like a jet engine like hte PC does when its on. The only problem is, I can't get the MBP to recognize the speakers as speakers. Instead, it just thinks of them as headphones, so it doesn't output the sound to it's best potential. This happens with both cable types - phono to phono and phono to RCA L/R I fudged around the sound settings, and there was nothing I could click on to make it output like a 2.1 system. Is there something I'm missing where I can get this to work right? Thanks for the help!
Berzerker
Short of doing digital out and converting it back to analog, I don't think anything.
