Hi

I'm running Kalyway 10.5.2 and pretty much everything works.

But my external hard-drive is only mounted and shown in the Finder if it

was already plugged in when I booted leopard.

I was also able do read and write files without problems.

But after I unplug the external hard-drive and plug it in again, it's doesn't get

shown within Finder again, and I cant mount it with the disk utility.

But it is shown in the system Profiler and I can connect it to VMware

and use it in my virtual Windows XP. The only way to get it mounted again

within leopard was to reboot my computer.

How can i mount the Hard-drive again without rebooting?

Can somebody help me please!!!

PS: sry for my bad english

Probably there is something wrong with the MFT of your usb drive. If you have FAT32/NTFS check your drive with chkdsk.exe and repair file system errors.

I have the usb drive with osx format....

thanks

I've got the same problem (also using Kalyway 10.5.1 plus combo update to 10.5.2). I'm not sure, but I believe it occurred after applying the security update. I solved it installing another hacked kernel.
