Powaking
Make your OSX partition Active. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/94829-how-can-i-make-darwin-my-only-bootloader/#findComment-676402 Share on other sites
nkear5
This worked for me in your situation. Put in your OS X install disk and press F8 when prompted. After this type -s. After everything has finished loading type the following. This will set your OS X partition as the active partition and remove the HFS+ error. fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0 flag 1 update write quit reboot [0 is your disk id, if you have 1 hard drive it usually defaults to 0] [1 is your partition number, It depends on what partition each is. If you created the vista partition first make it 2, if you made the OS X partiton first, leave it as 1] OS X should boot now hopefully. While you are in OS X, enter terminal from applications>utilities and type the following. sudo -s fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0 flag 2 quit reboot Now it should automatically go to vista, however if my estimates are correct you will get winload.exe error. This is normal. Just insert your vista disk and boot from it, select your language options, then select repair computer from the bottom left of the window. As soon as the repair application opens you should be prompted with an option to fix boot errors, just select yes, or if not follow your nose. Reboot and vista should boot correctly. Now boot off the OS X disk again in -s mode. type the following fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0 flag 1 quit reboot If all has worked successfully you should have the option of either Windows or OS X from the Darwin bootloader.
