I've been working for quite a while on getting my VIA VT1708 Vinyl Audio to work with osx86 but haven't had much luck as of yet. After finally getting iATKOS Leopard installation to work my sound did something strange, where the left channel played correctly and the right channel exploded with obnoxious white noise (although fooling with kexts since has caused the sound output to go completely unrecognized... but that's besides the point).

After searching all over the boards I've found little to help get the card to work. I've been toying with AppleHDA (http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showforum=140) for a while with little luck, being that I don't have a Linux system to make the codec dump with (to install linux for this mere purpose would be a bit excessive).

I did, however, find a linux codec (not a dump) for VT1708 at http://driverscollection.com/?H=VT1708&amp...IA&SS=Linux

Does anybody know if this will work with AppleHDA, and maybe out of the kindness of their heart make a dump from these files and post them?

Otherwise, are there any other methods for getting the sound to work properly?

Thanks in advance!

-Ross

Well, i have the same problem... No sound on the right speaker (just noise) and no compatibilty with AppleHDAPatcher...

I've tried to path my own AppleHDA.kext using the tutorial in this firum, but its so hard to follow for a noob like me..

The sound is the only problem in my hackintosh..

Anyone has the solution?
