dsc106
Sometimes when I open my MBP (got it in Jan 08), I open it and the screen just stays black. I know its working, though, because when I use the volume keys I can here the volume going up and down. But the screen doesn't power back up. I've waited a couple minutes, tried closing it and opening it again, but ultimately I just have to reboot when this happens. In the last 5 weeks or so this has been probably 4-6 times. Is this normal? Any solutions?

dsc106
no one on this whole forum knows the answer to this question?
rollcage
I have the same problem, I've never found a solution though. I just close it back up, wait for it to go back asleep, then try again.
dsc106
hmmm, so it sounds like a somewhat common/known issue for MBPs, so nothing unique to mine then? That's fine if there is no solution, just wasn't sure if this was "normal"
rollcage
Looked up the problem on Apple's Support Forums; I guess Apple knows about the issue and is supposed to be releasing an update to fix it (no word of when though).
