Whiterat Posted February 16, 2006 Share Posted February 16, 2006 Hi Folks, Ive searched just about every thread both here and on win2osx regarding the usage of the 865G on 10.4.3 There seems to be no definative answer to if its possible or not... Currently I am stuck with 1024x768@60 with No Core Image and No Quartz Extreme. There are no suitable Kext's for it to load Ive seen that there is an Open Source driver for this GFX designed for FreeBSD: (http://www.xfree86.org/~dawes/845driver.html) Just wondering if it is realistically possible to recompile for Darwin/OSX ? Another thing in my mind at the moment is about 10.4.4 and 10.4.5 Ive read the changelog for these new builds and it mentions new drivers for ATi and NVidia, but nothing about intel chips? So can someone who is running these versions clarify this? domino Posted February 16, 2006 Share Posted February 16, 2006 No one has compiled drivers for Intel on-board agp for 10.4.3 and no has has gotten it to work either. Run a search on the intel graphics instead of the motherboard chipsets. 10.4.4 and 10.4.5 do not run intel graphics and will not have intel graphics drivers. The community or a group will have to compile a new driver for 10.4.4 and 10.4.5. assuming there are enough demand and support. Read through the wiki and find an affordable ATI graphics card that support QE and CI.
