gliters
Can someone, please, help me and explayn how to boot from OSx86 DVD? I burn the image file to DVD, set the boot sequence, but it doesn't recognize the disk and asks to insert a bootable CD/DVD. I'm trying to set it up as the only OS so I don't need dual boot. Please Help! Thnx. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/90707-boot-problem/ Share on other sites
Reveeen
Which DVD are you trying to boot from? Typically, you download a .rar of an image (iso), you use winrar to decompress, and combine the image, in Nero you burn that iso, and you have a bootable DVD. There alraedy was an iso, and I burned it into DVD, but when i tried to boot it didn't do anything. Reveeen
If burnt properly the CDs (DVDs) are all bootable. Are other bootable disks working in your configuration? gliters
Haven't yet tried, but I will. I too had a thought that maybe the disk isn't bootable Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/90707-boot-problem/#findComment-648483 Share on other sites

I got past that problem and installed MAC using Mac OS X 10.4.8 [JaS AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1].iso DVD, but now I have a new problem - when I start up it just shows a black screen with a white pointer (_) and isn't loading... what can I do? P.S. I have set my boot sequence correctly (I think )... Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/90707-boot-problem/#findComment-648605 Share on other sites
