Hello. I've recently spent hours of my life battling ACPI issues on an MSI G33M-FI board and don't want to make the same mistake twice. I got an install of osx86 to work in the end, but I can't use one of my cores or my video card (video card is probably not related, but still a pain.) I want an inexpensive (<= 100) mATX board that will work with a vanilla install and I keep coming back to either a G31M or the G33M from Gigabyte. I know the G31M is popular because it works, but I don't know if anyone has had luck with the G33M-S2L. Would you please post about your experiences (if any) with the board?

Thanks in advance for your time.

Hello there,

I am currently looking at this board as well. I'm looking to build another vanilla machine and am looking at this board because it seems the G33m-DS2R no longer available...

As i find solutions for this board i will post them here to help form the guide.

Hello.

I'm sorry, can you tell me how you boot osx86 on MSI G33M-FI? I have this motherboard, i install 10.5.3 on it (connected harddrive to another osx86 machine) but when I boot it halted after message: "Using 5242 headers and 4096 clusters ..."

Thank you.
